Getting Klay Thompson back on the court is the Golden State Warriors’ top priority for the upcoming season, even ahead of improving their roster or using their two lottery picks.
Thompson is one of the most important players in their roster and they’ll be instant championship contenders if he comes back to his usual self.
That’s why it was so encouraging for fans to see Klay’s latest post on Instagram. He was pictured taking shots and running up and down the court during his rehab:
“DubNation , I still have a really long , long , LOOOONG way to go . But my goodness, it felt so dang good to get up and down and see the ball go thru the net . Can’t wait to burn em down next year !! Big milestone for me this week,” Thompson captioned the post.
While most fans were touched and excited for this, it seems like Kevin Durant wasn’t that impressed.
In fact, he decided to troll his former teammate with just one word: “shortbread,” which is what Klay Thompson yells at other players in practice when they hit the front of the rim on a shot.
KD commented “shortbread”
Steph said Klay yells that when someone hits front rim on a shot 😂 pic.twitter.com/xcMq9J6hHy

Clearly, there are no hard feelings between these two, and Kevin Durant is just taking a friendly jab at one of his former teammates and friends. Contrary to what most people think, Durant actually has a pretty sound relationship with some of the Warriors players.
Also, Klay Thompson is one of the most laid-back people around the Association, so it’s not like he’s going to take offense in any of that.
Hopefully, the Splash Brother will be back out there doing what he does best at the same level he was when suffered his injury. It’s a long and tough road, but I’m sure Kevin Durant can give him a couple of pointers.
