Joel Embiid Calls Out The Referees Again: “They Can Foul Me All They Want, They Don’t Call Anything. Last 3 Games It’s Been The Same.”

Joel Embiid had some things to get off his chest following Game 7 of the Philadelphia 76ers-Atlanta Hawks series. The center wasn’t happy with several things that happened during the series, especially with referees.

After Game 6, even when the Sixers won, the Cameroonian had something to say to the officials. Joel accused them of favoring Trae Young and calling fouls against the Sixers even when the contact was minimal.

Well, he kept that energy after the series was over. JoJo went off on the officials again, claiming that the rivals had a free pass to foul him since the refs wouldn’t call anything against them. He also mentioned that his team could do things better, but the referees were the main focus of his rant.

“There’s a lot of stuff that went wrong,” Embiid said, via CBS Sports. “Whether it’s [that] they can foul me all they want. Whether it’s the officiating. Tonight, you got guys fouling, putting their hands up with me going for a dunk, and they don’t call anything. It’s just the last three games, it’s been the same way, over and over.

“Then, last game, I get fined for having my arms out while I’m getting pushed in the freaking back. And I got fined just because, I don’t know why. So, there’s a lot of stuff that went wrong. As a team, we still have to be better. We still had a good chance to win. We just made a lot of mistakes.”

It’s pretty evident that JoJo wasn’t happy with the referees. They earned a lot of criticism during the series, but the Sixers could clinch this series before and blow their chances. Of course, that has nothing to do with the officials, and Embiid is well aware of that.
