LeBron James Wants The Raptors To Retire DeMar DeRozan’s Jersey: “Absolutely They Should.”

DeMar DeRozan is one of the best players to ever put on a jersey. He was a multiple-time All-Star with the Toronto Raptors and holds many records within the franchise. He was notably traded for superstar Kawhi Leonard ahead of the 2018-19 season, and that trade was key to the Raptors winning their first championship.

Even though he isn’t on the Raptors anymore, DeMar DeRozan will forever be a legend in Toronto to a lot of fans. There has been some talk about the Toronto Raptors potentially retiring his jersey in the future.

Instagram page Hoop Films has recently posted a video of DeMar DeRozan’s highlights and asked their fans whether the Toronto Raptors should retire DeMar DeRozan’s jersey. A lot of fans said yes, and it seems as though is a prominent player who agrees with that notion.

LeBron James commented on the Instagram post, and incredulously asked: “That’s a real question?”. LeBron James also then proceeded to state his opinion that DeMar DeRozan’s jersey should “absolutely” be retired.

LeBron James and DeMar DeRozan faced off many times in the playoffs and during the regular season, with the King coming out on top a lot of the time. However, it definitely looks as though LeBron James recognizes the contributions that DeMar DeRozan brought to the Raptors, and understands just how far he brought the team. DeMar DeRozan was one of the stars who were willing to stay in Toronto, and many stars from Toronto’s past weren’t willing to do the same.

It remains to be seen if the Toronto Raptors do retire DeMar DeRozan’s jersey, and he certainly deserves it. Hopefully, that can happen sooner rather than later, and perhaps we’ll see No. 10 get hoisted up in the rafters in Toronto in the future.
