Despite their status as the reigning champions of the NBA, this Los Angeles Lakers team has struggled this season. That was mostly due to injury, and their recent game against the Indiana Pacers showed a glimpse of what they could do when healthy. LeBron James and Anthony Davis give you a chance against any opponent, and the addition of Andre Drummond gives them a former All-Star big man who is an elite rebounder.
We should never underestimate the heart of a champion, no matter their seeding. The Los Angeles Lakers know what it takes to win in the playoffs, and a team with LeBron James is bound to go far. While the Los Angeles Lakers are locked in as the 7th seed, it seems as though LeBron James isn’t worried. As he stressed prior to Sunday’s game, he’s ready for anything.

There was some speculation from various analysts about how healthy the Los Angeles Lakers would be when it was playoff time. LeBron James has missed a series of games prior to the Lakers-Pacers matchup, and Dennis Schroder was in a similar situation. However, the Los Angeles Lakers took care of business in the end, closing their season on a 5-game win streak. All in all, this team has proven that they shouldn’t be taken lightly.
And while they may not be at their best, and destined for a play-in tournament game, nobody should be counting them out. If any team could upset a top seed in the playoffs, it would be a team led by LeBron James.
