The Timberwolves Twitter Is Hilarious: ‘The Last Time We Played May Basketball’

The Minnesota Timberwolves have one of the best Twitter accounts in the NBA. They are always hyping their players up, celebrating every victory and more recently, they remembered the last time they play May basketball, something that will be done this year, too.

Back in 2004, when Kevin Garnett was still part of the team, Minnesota was looking to reach the NBA Finals and they went deep that year, reaching the Western Conference Finals.

The last time we played May basketball?

The problem is that a superteam formed by Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, Karl Malone and more, was expecting them. In the end, the Lakers won the series, 4-2, and went to play in the Finals, where the surprising Detroit Pistons would beat them in five games.

Now the T-Wolves are nowhere near the Western Conference Finals but with all the changes the league suffered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it started later than it usually does and everybody is playing May basketball.

Minny is having a bad season with Anthony Edwards, Karl-Anthony Towns and D’Angelo Russell. They were expected to do more than they’ve done so far but that’s very common in the league.

With Edwards becoming one of the best young players in the league and if they manage to get the right help for KAT, D’Lo and the 2020 first overall draft pick, times will get a lot better for the T-Wolves and their Big 3.

They won’t be playing June basketball this year, that’s for sure, but ‘at least’ they made it to May.
