NBA Rumors: Los Angeles Lakers Could Trade Montrezl Harrell To Charlotte Hornets

3 Min Read

Montrezl Harrell has unexpectedly become one of the biggest names in the league ahead of the trade deadline. The Los Angeles Lakers big man changed teams last offseason, finishing his tenure with the Los Angeles Clippers, seemingly giving a big boost to the purple and gold, who are still one of the best teams in the Western Conference.

After LeBron James went down with an injury, it seems like the Lakers are ready to make a big splash in the trade market and subsequent buyout market. They need to make some adjustments in the absence of James and Anthony Davis and Harrell could be one of the victims of the Lakers’ upcoming exchanges.

The Lakers are reportedly open to hearing offers for Harrell and one of the teams that have already called the Californians for the player is the Charlotte Hornets, who are also interested in Myles Turner and Gorgui Dieng. According to Jake Fischer of Bleacher Report, the Hornets have shown their interest in the player.

“The Hornets could find that frontcourt depth in Memphis’ Gorgui Dieng, whom the Grizzlies are looking to move before his contract expires at the end of the season. Charlotte has also called the Lakers about Montrezl Harrell, Los Angeles’ bruising center, sources said, and the reigning champions appear willing to entertain offers.”

Trezz also shared a cryptic message on Monday night, which set the alarms for fans, who think he’s ready to leave the Lakers in the next 72 hours.

This is not the only change they could make in the trade deadline; Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is another name that could be shipped in the next couple of days. According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the 17-time NBA champions are ready to part ways with KCP and are ready to land Andre Drummond as long as he’s bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers.

After the moments they’ve lived in recent weeks, the Lakers need to make some drastic changes to face the remainder of the season. LeBron James could miss at least six weeks and they need to survive without the King. This Thursday will be a very important day for the team and we could watch some big moves.
