Dwight Howard Says Ben Simmons Can Reach LeBron James’ Level

Ben Simmons is having a very good season with the Philadelphia 76ers, although his numbers haven’t been the best. However, like Joel Embiid said, his impact on the game isn’t reflected on the stat sheets and that’s more visible when you see the great defense he’s playing right now.

Every day he’s earning more praise from his teammates and added to Embiid, Dwight Howard has been one of those giving flowers to the Australian point guard. After the Sixers took down Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks, with Simmons holding Doncic to 19 points, Howard was asked about the performances of his teammate and he had big words for him.

Howard even said that Simmons can reach LeBron James level if he keeps playing this way, something that won’t be much appreciated by a lot of fans around the NBA.

“He’s an amazing player. I love watching him play defense. His energy and effort have been top of the line. I just want him to continue to do that and stay humble and hungry. Because the sky’s the limit for Ben and like I said at the beginning of the season, LeBron James…”

He also took his chance to praise the player for his defense against Luka Doncic, one of the most gifted players in the league. Ben was really good against him and that played a big role in the Sixers’ win over the Mavs.

“I believe he’s the best defensive player in the league right now,” he said.

Philadelphia remains at the top of the Eastern Conference and if Simmons and Embiid keep doing a good job, this team has a big chance to compete to play in the NBA Finals. The competition is hard but they’ve learned how to be competitive again this campaign.
