The Dallas Mavericks are struggling in the Western Conference, and thus there will be trade rumors surrounding the team. That usually happens when a team with expectations underperforms. The Dallas Mavericks will obviously not trade Luka Doncic. Therefore, it is natural that Kristaps Porzingis would be the subject of trade rumors, such as the recent rumors linking him to the Warriors. Kristaps Porzingis is the Mavericks’ most valuable trade asset due to his ability and further potential.

Recently though, Mark Cuban categorically denied that the Mavericks have had conversations on a trade that involves Kristaps Porzingis. He then further elaborated on the situation.

As the Porzingis trade-talk smoke billows, I asked @mcuban about reports that Mavs have gauged @kporzee trade value.

"It's not accurate," he says. "We have not discussed him in a trade at all. Has not happened."

Mark Cuban says that they’re “not happy” that an anonymous Western Conference executive trashed on one of their players. It makes sense, as Kristaps Porzingis is still a good player. Kristaps Porzingis is a unicorn who can shoot extremely well at his size, playing almost like a huge shooting guard. The Dallas Mavericks would make a mistake giving up such an amazing player just as he starts to enter his prime. Mark Cuban squashing the trade rumors is another sign that the Mavericks are ready to roll with Kristaps Porzingis.

While anything can happen in the NBA, it looks like Porzingis won’t be traded for the near future. It makes sense that the Dallas Mavericks would want to develop such a talented player, and hopefully, Porzingis can reward that faith.
