Bam Adebayo Goes Off On Teammates After 20-PT Loss: “We Didn’t Play To The Miami Heat Culture That We Represent.”

Bam Adebayo is anything but happy with the Miami Heat’s recent performances, where they have looked nothing like the team that reached the NBA Finals last season in the Orlando bubble. The Heat started this season with big expectations but so far they’ve been struggling to find their touch.

On Saturday, they lost against the struggling Detroit Pistons, 120-100, confirming that they’re not going through a sweet moment right now. That results didn’t sit well with anybody and Bam Adebayo was quick to hold everybody accountable after the embarrassing loss. The big man called out his team for not living up to the expectations and the culture the Heat have created in recent years.

“We didn’t play to … the Miami Heat culture that we represent,” Adebayo said. “We’re built on the culture. The culture is take a bunch of guys, counted out, overlooked, and you figure it out. Right now, we’re not doing it.”

Bam speaks:

This is definitely not good for the Heat, a team trying to improve their last season’s performance. This way, they will have a lot of trouble to even make it to the postseason. Right now they rank 11th in the East after the worst-ranked team in the conference beat them. They have lost their last three games, sitting at 4-7 right now.

This situation must be fixed before it’s too late. A couple of days ago, Jimmy Butler already had called out his teammates, explaining they needed to be more aggressive and just like Adebayo, Butler said they have to represent their culture. Erik Spoelstra and co. have a lot of work to do to get Miami out of the hole where they got.
