Doc Rivers On 76ers Having 7 Active Players Against Denver Nuggets: “Dwight Howard Is Going To Have To Play Point Guard, And We’ll See How It Goes.”

The 76ers have had many players enter the COVID-19 procedures as guided by the NBA, due to Seth Curry getting a positive test result. Some players felt unsure about playing the Denver Nuggets tonight, and so the 76ers ended up having eight players.

While the 76ers originally had eight players, one of them was Mike Scott, who is actually injured. Adrian Wojnarowski reported on the situation.

Mike Scott will go through warmups, but is unlikely to play today, sources tells ESPN. Essentially, he's needed to wear a uniform on bench to avoid a forfeit. The Sixers are preparing to play with seven players vs. Denver today.

The 76ers will be running a seven-man rotation, something that is usually unheard of during a regular-season game. But due to the unprecedented nature of the COVID-19 virus and the league’s decision to not do a bubble, sometimes things like this will happen. Doc Rivers talked about his rotation now that he only has seven players:

"Dwight Howard is going to have to play point guard, and we'll see how it goes.”

While that is certainly an exaggeration as Tyrese Maxey is on the roster, it just shows that the 76ers are thin for the Nuggets game. Hopefully, they can somehow pull out a win, but no one would blame them if they didn’t. In the future, the league will surely adjust to deal with situations like this.
