Chris Bosh Reveals How LeBron James Told Him He Was Leaving The Heat

It seems like an eternity ago now, but it was only a few years ago that LeBron James was lacing it up for the Miami Heat.

While he only spent four seasons with the franchise, he achieved monumental success, making four straight Finals and earning 2 NBA Championships in that time.

In fact, considering all that he was able to do, many still question why he decided to leave in the summer of 2014.

On that matter, we might never get the full picture, but Chris Bosh recently shed some light on the topic in an interview with Matt Barnes and Stephen Jackson on “All The Smoke,” podcast, revealing the text he got from LeBron and how he felt in the aftermath.

“[I found out] through a text. I thought he was B.S.ing but about 10 minutes later, it’s everywhere. At the time I didn’t understand it. At the time, in my mind, I was ready to put the team back together” Bosh said. “We had wanted to put the team back together so we could win, and it really didn’t go like that. I took offense to it, to be honest with you, at first. I was only thinking about how I felt about it, even though me and ‘Bron had talked about it. But I’m a competitor, and when you go back into that locker room and LeBron isn’t sitting in that chair, and everyone is looking at you for that 25 points [it ’s tough].”

It probably isn’t easy to find out your co-star is leaving your team through a text, but Bosh doesn’t seem to harbor any ill feelings about it — at least, not anymore.

As for Bron, he’d wind up winning two more titles since his departure from Miami, a true ode to his talent and dominance at the game. Going on 36 in December, it will be interesting to see what else might be in store for him River the next few years…
