Seth Curry Will Play For His Father-In-Law Doc Rivers In Philadelphia

Well, it seems like Doc Rivers is going to spend a lot of time with his grandson now, as the Philadelphia 76ers recently traded for Dallas Mavericks’ sharpshooter Seth Curry, who also happens to be Doc’s son-in-law.

The Mavericks sent Curry to the Sixers in return for Josh Richardson and the 36th overall pick in yesterday’s Draft, giving away a great defender to land the floor spacer they needed since JJ Redick left the team to join the New Orleans Pelicans.

Seth Curry is currently the active leader in career three-point shooting percentage (44.3%) and he’ll get a ton of wide-open looks with Joel Embiid drawing double-teams and the defenses collapsing the paint to prevent Ben Simmons from getting to the rim.

Now, Curry will stay close to his family by playing under Doc Rivers’ command, and it isn’t the first time something like this has happened for the veteran coach.

As a matter of fact, Doc Rivers used to coach Paul George, which was his daughter’s ex-boyfriend before he allegedly cheated on her with a stripper. Also, Doc coached – and then traded – his son Austin Rivers, who’s now playing for the Houston Rockets.

Daryl Morey’s tenure in charge of the Philadelphia 76ers got off to a hot start. He managed to get rid of Al Horford’s massive contract and land Danny Green and Terrence Ferguson in return. Then, he landed Seth Curry and drafted Tyrese Maxey, Isiah Joe, and Paul Reed to round up his huge night.

It goes without saying that the Philadelphia 76ers are one of the biggest candidates out of the Eastern Conference with Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons leading the way, and they already look like a much-improved team compared to last season.
