Buddy Hield Was Pissed Off With The Kings: “Name One Big Free Agent Who Came To Sacramento”

2 Min Read

Buddy Hield’s time in Sacramento is coming to an end, as the relationship between the player and the team is anything but good right now. It looks like he never felt comfortable with the Kings and he’s expected to be traded this offseason. Buddy hasn’t been shy to make comments roasting his team, hurting more the relationship between them.

In October of 2019, Hield was talking about his chances to sign a max contract with the Kings. He and his agent were looking for a $110 million deal and the sharpshooter made it clear that if he Sacramento didn’t want him, he’d try to look that contract elsewhere.

“It’s not always about ‘Less than the max.’ It’s just, like, something that is reasonable, whereas it’s not an insult.” he said. “Whereas we respect each other enough to come to an agreement.”

“Especially a low market like this, Sacramento … name one big free agent who came to Sacramento,” Hield said.

“I feel like I’m part of the group that’s getting the team back to where it needs to be,” he continued. “Like I said, I want to be here and if they don’t want me here, (that’s) fine.”

One year later, Hield is practically out of the team after a tumultuous season. They couldn’t compete last year, even though they showed some improvement. The Kings need to make better decisions in the future and try to build a competitive team with their resources and see how that works out for them.

The only certain thing now is that Hield won’t last too long as part of the organization.
