Jimmy Butler, Andre Iguodala And Jae Crowder Are Statistically Three Of The Best LeBron Defenders Ever, And Miami Have Three Of Them

While there’s no such thing as a ‘LeBron Stopper’, there are obviously players who do a better job at containing The King than others. Obviously, that’s way easier said than done.

Surprisingly – or maybe not – the Miami Heat actually have three of those players who thrive off the chance of keeping LeBron in check currently playing heavy minutes on their roster: Jimmy Butler, Andre Iguodala, and Jae Crowder.

Among all the players that have guarded LeBron James since 2014, Jimmy Butler and Jae Crowder have held the 17-year veteran to 41.2% and 42.2% shooting, respectively, which would be good for the 2nd and 3rd best defense over LeBron, trailing only Draymond Green, who’s held him to 39.3% shooting.

As for Andre Iguodala, there’s no need to remind everybody that he earned the 2015 Finals MVP honors thanks to his great defense on LeBron James, including an iconic chase-down block that LeBron got right back at him during his 2016 NBA Finals run.

The Miami Heat have one of the best defenses in the league and we already know coach Erik Spoelstra is one of the best defensive masterminds in basketball. They’re bullies and they don’t mind getting hurt and putting their body on the line on every single possession.

Then again, even if they manage to keep LeBron James in check, they’ll still have to deal with Anthony Davis down low, so Bam Adebayo is definitely going to have his hands full.
