The Los Angeles Clippers got past the Dallas Mavericks on Sunday after a 111-97 victory to win the series, 4-2. Luka Doncic and his Mavs tried and tried but the Kawhi Leonard-led Clippers had the edge this year.

The Slovenian player had a terrific season, becoming one of the best players in the league, leading his team to the postseason when nobody expected big things from them and competed against one of the favorites to win the title.

He left a good impression in everybody this year, including Kawhi Leonard, who praised the Slovenian player after Game 6. Kawhi recognized Doncic was a force and that he did everything he could to help his team succeed this year.

“He is a great player. His first Playoffs, battled every minute he was out there on the floor, then back down. [He] led his team in every game, he did a hell of a job out there,” Leonard said in his postgame interview.

Luka averaged 31.0 points, 9.8 rebounds and 8.7 assists against the Clippers in this postseason, becoming the first player to average at least 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists in his first-ever playoff series.

The 21-year-old also talked about Leonard, saying that Kawhi is nearly unstoppable.

“He’s an amazing player, he shows us every game. It’s hard to stop him, almost impossible to stop him. He’s an amazing player and a lot of people look up to him,” Luka said.

These two were the stars of this series. They faced the absence of Kristaps Porzingis and Paul George’s bad form and shone, leading their teams to win big games. In the end, Kawhi prevailed but there is no doubt we’ll see more duels between this pair in the future.

Kawhi is ready to take his team to win the championship and Luka hopes to do the same in the near future.
