LeBron James Lauds Raptors’ Championship DNA: “The Media May Not Give Them As Much Credit Because Kawhi Is Gone, But Players Know What Type Of Team They Are.”

LeBron James had some good words towards the Toronto Raptors after Saturday’s night duel that saw the Canadian dominate the Californians, 107-92, winning a very important game in front of one of the biggest favorites to the title and a potential rival in this year’s Finals.

After the game, the King spoke to the media, praising their rival and their ‘championship DNA’ that has taken them to be where they are right now, despite losing big players like Kawhi Leonard and the now Laker Danny Green.

“I think it’s a great team. They won a championship for a reason. It wasn’t just all solely because of Kawhi [Leonard] and obviously you see that. They’ve got the two-headed monsters in Fred [VanVleet] and Kyle [Lowry] that set the tone. Their wings are extremely good in Pascal [Siakam] and OG [Anunoby]. They’ve got experience in the frontcourt at the center position in Marc [Gasol] and Serge [Ibaka] and then they’ve got a bunch of complementary guys. That’s why they’ve been the team they’ve been all year.”

Bron also mentioned Toronto’s strength, which is the desire they want to win every game at all cost, no matter who’s in front of them.

“The media may not give them as much credit because Kawhi is gone, but players know what type of team they are.”

This year, Pascal Siakam and Kyle Lowry have improved their game. Just when everybody believed the Raptors were going to be a bad team this season, Nick Nurse and his pupils proved everybody wrong, standing second in the East, ahead of the Boston Celtics and only behind the Milwaukee Bucks.

It looks like people are sleeping on the Raptors once again, but this team has shown they have the desire and the heart to reach all their goals. Perhaps we’ll see another surprise by the Canadians this season, this time without Kawhi Leonard.
