Damian Lillard Says LeBron James Should Win MVP This Season

Damian Lillard has made the case for LeBron James as the 2020 NBA MVP. Although Giannis Antetokounmpo is the biggest favorite to earn that award due to the things he did with the Milwaukee Bucks this season, some people believe Bron has a legit chance to take home the longed-for award after his great season with the Los Angeles Lakers.

Lillard is convinced that Bron is the rightful MVP award winner given to the production he’s delivered this season, despite being 35 and playing his 17th NBA season. Bron surely surprised everybody with his performances this campaign, but not everybody is sold on the idea that he actually deserves the MVP. However, Lillard made the case for him during a recent appearance on ESPN’s “Jalen & Jacoby”.

“This season I think it’s LeBron,” Lillard said. “They’re the No. 1 team in the west, they’ve been consistent all year long, and for him to be at the age he’s at with the amount of miles that he has on his body, how often he’s talked about the pressure that they’ve put on him in every little thing that he does. At the level he’s performing at, in my opinion, I think he’s the MVP.”

Before the NBA suspended the season after Rudy Gobert tested positive for COVID-19, LeBron and his Lakers were having a terrific streak. They had defeated their biggest two rivals for the titles in consecutive games. First, they took down the Milwaukee Bucks of Antetokounmpo before going against the Los Angeles Clippers and defeating them.

LeBron had terrific games against those rivals, which led people to start believing he has a good case for the MVP. What he’s done has been great, but Giannis has already earned that prize in the eyes of many. It would be hard to see Bron getting the MVP award this year, but for Lillard, he is the rightful winner.
