Michael Jordan’s The Last Dance has been a massive success. But more than just reminding all older fans why he’s the greatest player of all time, it has also helped the new generation take a glimpse of his greatness and jump on board of the fandom.
Jordan’s competitiveness and mindset molded some of the superstars that came right after him, so watching the guy behind the 6 NBA Championships could also do wonders for some of the younger hoopers entering the league.
That’s why Memphis Grizzlies’ Ja Morant has been binge-watching the show thus far as he told Ashley Brooke, and he came to the conclusion that he just would’ve loved to play against Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
“It’s definitely – you know, something I’m kinda locked in watching right now because I haven’t watched like a lot of Michael Jordan, I mean, like what they’re showing right now. Obviously, I’ve watched a lot of highlights but just being able to see what kind of person the player was it’s definitely something to watch. I mean, I wish I could’ve played back then. Definitely one of the matchups I wish I could’ve had against Jordan and Kobe, that’s definitely my top two. I wish I could’ve played against the older guys,” Morant said.
Ja Morant has been watching ‘The Last Dance’ like the rest of us and wishes he could’ve played against some of the greats like MJ and Kobe. We talked about what the Bulls had to do to overcome the Pistons and he shared a similar story after losing in the NCAA tourney. @JaMorant pic.twitter.com/XyLHnmvS9m

Morant went on to discuss Michael Jordan’s drive in the offseason after losing to the Detroit Pistons, claiming that he felt exactly the same way after being knocked out of the March Madness during his rookie year in college.
Ja is one of the league’s most promising young players and a lock to win this year’s Rookie of the Year, so if he continues to work on his craft and keeps on that competitive mindset, he’ll definitely be even more special.
