The NBA has made the decision to suspend the season due to the coronavirus outbreak and the impact the illness has made on the competition. This hasn’t only affected the NBA, but other major competitions around the globe, but the league has been one of the latest elite tournaments to take action on it.

On Wednesday night the game between the Utah Jazz and the Oklahoma City Thunder was postponed ‘due to illness’ before it was revealed that Rudy Gobert had tested positive for COVID-19. Shortly after the news saw the light, the league decided to pause the campaign. The suspension is ‘indefinite’.

The reactions to this news didn’t take too long and players show their annoyance with the things happening in the league this season. The 2019/20 campaign has been full of calamities, and bad things have happened, including this coronavirus outbreak.

LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry reacted to this situation, while the league keeps studying the next steps to make on this matter.

Bron and Curry were very outspoken about the things taking place this year, with the King claiming 2020 should be canceled.

Man we cancelling sporting events, school, office work, etc etc. What we really need to cancel is 2020! 🤦🏾‍♂️. Damn it’s been a rough 3 months. God bless and stay safe🙏🏾

“Man we cancelling sporting events, school, office work, etc etc. What we really need to cancel is 2020!. Damn it’s been a rough 3 months. God bless and stay safe,” the Los Angeles Lakers star wrote on Twitter.

Curry, meanwhile, reminded everybody that the health of people is more important than the game, noting that the league will return when it’s safe for everyone.

2020 aint it. Don't know what to compare this situation to…just gotta buckle up and take care of yourself and those around you. Basketball will be back at some point but right now, protect yourself and stay safe out there!

The league had a conference call yesterday, in which they tried to find solutions to this problem. However, things got out of control really quickly and now they’ve suspended the season. The coronavirus is the most sensitive topic in the world right now, and the association is not exempt from this.
