Year in and year out, we tend to take a look at some players that we would love to see stay put on our teams but we know that things are just not going to work out between them and the management.
On the other hand, we take a look at some ballers that we hope our team lands after everybody knows they aren’t comfortable with their current situation as they’re facing free agency for the first time in a long time.
So, already looking and planning ahead to the upcoming campaign, today, we’re going to let you know about 5 players that are definitely not going to stay with their current teams and will reject a new contract.
5. D’Angelo Russell

Let’s face it already, D’Angelo Russell is nowhere near half as talented as we all thought he was, or else he would’ve at least find the way to average 20+ points per game on such a bad team like the Nets.
Also, Brooklyn is likely to try and make a run at some top-tier free agents next summer, so they won’t offer him the big deal he’s likely going to want. Obviously, that means he’s heading out the door.
4. Terry Rozier

The hype was high on Terry Rozier and even though everybody was jumping on the Scary Terry train, the Boston Celtics aren’t likely to be fooled by his strong postseason and offer him the big deal he’s expecting.
Also, Rozier feels as if he could already be a starter elsewhere, and with the short market for point guards we see nowadays, he’s a lock to be overpaid for any desperate team next summer and leave the Celtics.
3. DeMarcus Cousins

DeMarcus Cousins has already earned a lot of heat for “ruining the league”, as he pulled off quite a soft move by joining the Golden State Warriors in order to finally make a playoff appearance.
Even so, after giving up on that much money this season and likely going to become an NBA Champion, he’s very likely to pursue a very lucrative deal next season and leave the Golden State Warriors.
2. LaMarcus Aldridge

LaMarcus Aldridge is so high on himself and he’s not nearly half as good as he thinks he is, but truth to be told, he could still be a very valuable asset for a team in a better position to contend than the Spurs.
Aldridge wanted to leave San Antonio a couple of years ago and now that the team’s offense is likely going to flow through DeMar DeRozan, he’s likely going to want to leave and play for a contender.

1. Marc Gasol

Marc Gasol is one of the best two-way big men in the league and he knows he’s not getting younger, so this next summer will be his last chance to put things in order and leave for a contending side.
Gasol has already stated that he wants no part of a rebuilding process and the Memphis Grizzlies are in no position to compete despite the acquisition of Jaren Jackson and the return of Mike Conley, so expect him to leave the team in the summer.
