A three-point shot is becoming a more and more used weapon as basketball keeps leaning towards the perimeter, as now even big men are required to shoot from downtown every now and then.
Even though there were some incredible three-point shooters back in the day like Reggie Miller and Larry Bird, every single record is getting broken nowadays as we’re seeing way more players that constantly rely on that kind of offense.

You may say all you want about Kyle Lowry, the fact that he’s kind of overpaid and that he disappears in the playoffs, but you can’t deny that he’s one of the most solid three-point shooters in the league.
For over a decade, Lowry has been a reliable scorer from three-point territory, connecting on 1336 three-pointers in just over 37% shooting, so you better think twice before saying that he’s earning too much money.
8. Kevin Durant: 1374, 38.9%
The fact that Kevin Durant is a 7 footer (Despite what he may want to make you think) makes him even more impressive to watch, being as tall as a center but as skilled and crafty as a shooting guard.
Durant can do a little bit of everything and has even grown to become a top-tier rim protector and defender, but one of the things that amaze us the most out of him are his 1374 three-pointers on 38.9% shooting over the last decade.
7. Wesley Matthews: 1405, 38.3%
Wesley Matthews was quietly, yet quickly surging as one of the league’s top-tier 3 and D guard/forwards before suffering a season-ending injury that really took a toll on his ability to deliver.
Even so, over the course of the past decade, the former member of the Portland Trail Blazers truly made a name out of himself due to his great three-point shooting, scoring 1405 three-pointers in 38.3% from the floor.
6. JJ Redick: 1409, 41.6%
JJ Redick is one of the most proven winners in this league, as he’s a guy that has never missed the playoffs ever since entering the league, as well as being one of the best three-point shooters in modern basketball.
Redick is a hell of a scorer and one of the most reliable shooters from all three levels in the league, connecting in over 41% of his three-pointers and recording 1409 of them over a 10 season span.
5. JR Smith: 1478, 37.6%
One of the few reasons why JR Smith is still in this league is because he’s a great three-point shooter, especially when heavily guarded. His contested pull up three-pointers would make any coach go crazy, but hey, at least he’s hitting them.
Smith has lost most of his lateral quickness and often gets lost in the defensive end of the hardwood, but you still can’t leave him wide open as he can get hot in the blink of an eye, hitting 1478 threes in 37.6% shooting.
4. Kyle Korver: 1479, 44.5%
Kyle Korver is, hands down, one of the best three-point shooters in the history of the league, even briefly holding the record for most consecutive games with at least 1 three-pointer until Stephen Curry eventually snapped it.
Korver was a terrible defender early on, and even though he’s vastly improved in that regard, as well in the playmaking area, the one reason why he’s still getting consistent playing time is his three-point shooting, connecting on 1479 attempts on 44.5% over the last 10 years.
3. Klay Thompson: 1557, 42.2%
Klay Thompson hasn’t even been in the league for that long, yet he’s still managed to climb all the way to the 3rd spot in this list, so that can really make you note what kind of volume scorer he is.
Moreover, his consistency is one of the things that makes him one of the best shooting guards in the league, as we’re talking about a guy that takes over 6 three-pointers a game and connects on 42% of them, logging 1557 so far.
2. James Harden: 1647, 36.4%
James Harden is one of the most talented scorers this game has ever seen. He can create his own shot from everywhere in the court, draw fouls, finish through contact, and consistently hit from three-point land.
The lone question mark in Harden’s three-point shooting may be his shot selection, as he tends to force things a bit when trailing, and that’s why he’s only shot 36.4% from three, although he’s hit 1647 three-pointers.
