Charles Barkley and Draymond Green stand exactly opposite to each other according to their NFL predictions. As the NFL season starts heating up, both NBA legends came out with their takes on Josh Allen, and surprisingly, both of them feel totally different.

Barkley, a Philadelphia Eagles fan, is over the moon after their superb win last year. But he thinks Allen will take them out this year.

“I’m a big Josh Allen fan because I just think he’s a great dude and a great player. But if you gave me a choice right now, I would take the Bills against my Eagles. The Birds are going to be really good again this year. But I tell you, man, the AFC is going to be crazy,” the round mound of rebound said, appearing on Georgia Kittle and wife Claire Kittle’s podcast, the Kittle things.

Barkley sees last year’s MVP winning it all with the Bills this year. Just like Barkley, Allen has done almost everything in the league except win the coveted championship. But Allen would hope that he does not end his story like Barkley had to.

Another NBA legend, Draymond Green, also talked about Allen’s lack of rings and whether he’ll be able to get there.

“As I’ve said before, Josh Allen is like a damn good quarterback. But just because he’s a damn good quarterback doesn’t make you the guy. He’s never gonna get it done when it matters the most. And so I don’t care how Herculean a comeback effort you have at home in week one. He’s never gonna be the guy who’s gonna come out and win the championship.” Green said on his football podcast.

Green’s referring to Allen’s dramatic last-minute comeback over the Baltimore Ravens in a 41-40 thriller at home. Allen carried the Bills to score 16 unanswered points in the final minutes of the game. No one watching thought the Bills were going to have any chance in this game.

Yet, Green is not impressed enough in week one to give it up. The four-time NBA champion struggles to see the 26-year-old quarterback winning it all.

“He is not the guy. Jalen Hurts is the guy, Patty Mahomes is the guy, Josh Allen isn’t the guy. He’s not gonna Herculean you in a playoff game to win a Super Bowl title,” Green doubled down.

It is a unique situation where a player known for being a great player who never won a championship, in Charles Barkley, sees another great player in a similar situation winning the chip this year. While another player, Green, who is a bona fide champ but not the focal point of his team, does not see Allen get there.

Barkley was also quite passionate about a football matter that did not concern Allen, though. The former Philadelphia 76ers power forward took issue with how Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio was treated during his Miami stint.

“The Eagles got the best defense in the NFL. Vic Fangio is on a whole other level right now. I think he was on a mission because I thought he got s****** in Miami with those renegades down there. I mean, they don’t want to be coached. They just want to blame the coach. I’m like, the guy didn’t even try, he’s one of the greatest defensive coordinators ever.” Barkley added.

Fangio was a key figure in the Eagles’ dominant win over the Kansas City Chiefs in last year’s Super Bowl. Can Fangio recreate his magic again this year, or will Barkley’s prediction for the Bills and Josh Allen finally come true? Let us know in the comments section.
