The NBA world was left in disbelief after LeBron James teased a ‘Second Decision’, which raised speculations of his potential retirement announcement. Many believed that this could be the announcement of his farewell tour, but most Lakers fans want to believe it is a teaser for an advertisement for Amazon’s Prime Day.
Consequently, according to sources, the entry prices for Lakers games became nearly five times more expensive after this teaser. The cost of the cheapest ticket for the season, which was a Utah Jazz game, was $85. Following the news, it became $445. The reality behind this teaser is expected to be revealed on October 7th, i.e, tomorrow night.
Ticket prices for the Lakers’ final regular-season home game have absolutely skyrocketed — the cheapest seat is now going for $445 when they face the Utah Jazz.
Just hours ago, those same tickets were only $85… until LeBron’s tweet sent prices through the roof.

NBA fans couldn’t believe the instant impact they saw from LeBron James’ potential retirement. They took to social media and expressed their opinions on the Lakers’ superstar’s likely decision.
“This is gonna be a prime day ad and mfs are gonna be staring at the wall holding a pair of jazz tickets that cost them 600 bucks each, and LeBron and Luka both won’t end up playing due to hamstring soreness.”
“Everyone just got scammed for some Ad he’s gonna drop.”
“Kobe’s last career game was also at home against the Jazz.”
“Imagine if he says he’s playing another year.”
“They’re going to be so disappointed when he announces that he’s got a new Space Jam movie coming out.”
“It’s just an Amazon Prime Day promo; people are stupid.”
LeBron James pulled off something similar earlier this summer when he claimed he had something important to reveal to the media, and later it turned out to be an advertisement for Prime Day as well. Therefore, some fans are preparing themselves to see something like that when the reality behind the ‘Second Decision’ comes out.
The Lakers’ superstar is headed into Year 23 of his Lakers career. He ended last season on the All-NBA Second Team as he averaged 24.4 points, 8.2 assists, and 7.8 rebounds while shooting 37.6% from beyond the three-point arc. He is not expected to play during the Lakers’ preseason run after sitting out the first two games so far.
Considering that LeBron James is entering uncharted territory in the league, the Lakers are trying to be as understanding as they possibly can be in terms of letting James decide the workload he is willing to take and how he plans to announce the end of his NBA career. But rest assured, it seems very likely that this decision is just an advertisement and not a farewell tour announcement.
