An Arizona teen is facing serious consequences after a bizarre and inappropriate stunt at a WNBA game. According to court reports, 18-year-old Kaden Lopez appeared in court today after allegedly throwing a green dildo onto the court during the Phoenix Mercury’s home game Tuesday night.

“Video footage shows Lopez sitting in his seat. He retrieves the green dildo from his sweater front pocket, then throws the dildo forward. He then stands up and leaves the area,” a court document read (via FOX 10 Phoenix).

Authorities say the object struck a bystander, escalating the situation from a prank to a criminal matter. Lopez now faces charges of assault and disorderly conduct in connection with the incident, which briefly halted play and drew widespread attention on social media.

“The adult male victim was interviewed. He stated he was watching the WNBA game with his 9-year-old niece, when something hit his back then fell to the ground next to them. He realized the object that hit him was a dildo. He desires prosecution,” the court document read.

A few days ago, the WNBA sent out a statement on the ongoing sex toy prank. They caught a fan throwing the object on the court in Atlanta, and they wasted no time pressing charges, leading to his arrest.

The WNBA has been plagued by this concerning trend for a while now, with fans making it a sick routine to throw the sexual object on the court during games. Mr. Lopez is just one of several guilty persons, but he couldn’t have chosen a worse time to follow such a ridiculous trend. This incident happened at a Phoenix Mercury game just a few days after the previous ordeal, and it ended with Lopez being tackled to the ground by a witness who saw the entire ordeal.

The teenager reportedly bought the toy a day before the event, before deciding to risk it all by throwing it on the court and unintentionally hitting a fan in the back in the process. Lopez later apologized for his actions, claiming that it was a “stupid prank that was trending on social media,” but that’s not going to get him out of trouble at this point.

After being booked in jail for suspicion of disorderly conduct, assault, and public display of explicit sexual material, the daring teenager could be facing serious penalties for what he thought was a harmless prank. In reality, it’s actually a majorly disrespectful act that tilted a lot of people and started some major discussions about fan interaction at WNBA games.

What started as a so-called “social media trend” has now turned into a legal nightmare and potentially a turning point for how fan behavior is policed at events. For the league, it’s a clear sign that these incidents can’t be dismissed as jokes anymore. As for Kaden Lopez, his moment of internet-inspired recklessness may cost him far more than just a night behind bars.

The message from both the WNBA and the justice system is clear: disrespectful behavior has consequences, and no “prank” is worth becoming a national headline for all the wrong reasons.
