Bronny James was forced to go through many changes in 2023, many of which he had no control over. While he did get to pick his ideal school to pursue his basketball dreams, he saw it almost snatched away after suffering a cardiac arrest in July. After successfully returning to the court in December, Bronny sent out a hopeful message on New Year’s Eve on Instagram.
“Tonight – No car accidents. No DUI’s. No arrests. No RIP’s. In Jesus Name.”

New Year’s Eve is notorious for causing some bad accidents for people celebrating. Whether it’s getting busted for driving under the influence after a party or getting caught in an accident, Bronny’s hoping everyone who follows him stays safe is admirable.
Given we are in the first morning of 2024 already, anyone who did venture out on New Year’s Eve has already dealt with whatever consequences. Maybe it’d be better to take this message and apply it to the entirety of the year, as James probably intended to as well.
Bronny James Looks Destined To Be In The NBA
Bronny James’ NBA goals were known to the world before he even entered high school. Ever since it’s become clear to the James family that Bronny could legitimately make the NBA based on his talent, LeBron James has been dropping hints about wanting to play with him. LBJ playing as long as he has already had to have also been motivated by the fact that he and Bronny could become the first father-son duo to play in the NBA simultaneously.
Bronny’s 2023 cardiac arrest derailed his NCAA season, but it seems Bronny is determined to make things right. After making his NCAA debut in December and having unspectacular games under a minutes restriction, Bronny seems to be finding his rhythm. He dropped 15 points in the USC Tigers’ last game against Oregon State.
Bronny will not be the first-choice guard in USC, especially with potential top-five pick Isaiah Collier leading the team, but he can become a very impactful starter. Bronny’s defense and shooting ability have been noted by scouts for years. He doesn’t seem to be as elite as his father was, but Bronny could forge a solid NBA career for himself.
He was touted as a potential top-10 talent during his final high school season, one where Bronny jumped from being a four-star recruit to a five-star recruit. He was also named a McDonald’s All-American, an incredible achievement for any high school player. He’s expected to be a defensive guard that can stretch the floor, an archetype contending teams in the NBA salivate over.
Currently, Bronny is projected to be a late first-round or early second-round pick, but it looks increasingly hard for him to go undrafted. The James duo will likely be in the NBA next season, but it’ll be interesting to see if they can do this on the same team.
