The Los Angeles Lakers couldn’t compete with the Chicago Bulls, falling to a 108-124 loss. The Lakers tried making the game competitive at different points but kept falling behind due to a sensational offensive performance from the Bulls, something the Lakers couldn’t match.
Fans of the Purple and Gold franchise are having a meltdown after losing their fourth game over their last five.

Fans brought the knives out for Darvin Ham.
Darvin Ham brings zero value to the lakers franchise. I don’t know how he has a job. He literally doesn’t do anything but watch games.

The Lakers were led by LeBron James, who had an efficient 25-point night with 10 rebounds and nine assists. Anthony Davis couldn’t impact the game as we’ve seen him do in the past, scoring just 19 points while grabbing 14 rebounds. Austin Reaves continued his streak of scoring 20 or more points off the bench with a 21-point night, but it just wasn’t enough.
The Bulls’ offense was impossible to stop for the Lakers, as eight members of the Bulls’ rotation scored in double-digits. DeMar DeRozan led the charge with 27 points, while Coby White had some big late buckets to put the game away as he dropped 17 points. Alex Caruso and Patrick Williams both had 15, while Nikola Vucevic, Jevon Carter, Andre Drummond, and Ayo Dosunmu all had 10+ points.
Can The Lakers Compete With Their Current Roster?
Through the first six weeks of the season, we heard the Lakers blame their poor performances on bad injury luck. That was true, as the Lakers were missing multiple rotational players at a time, still awaiting the return of Gabe Vincent. However, most of the Lakers rotation is healthy right now, including their stars LeBron and AD.
This team can be a monster defensively but lacks the consistency to strike fear in the hearts of opponents. In addition, if they do end up letting the other team score too easily, the Lakers just don’t have the offensive weapons to stay in a close game till the end. D’Angelo Russell’s shooting is in a slump right now, which is forcing LeBron to be an active three-point shooter, something we know he can’t make at a 40% clip.
This roster looks solid on-paper, but a move to bolster the offense seems like a must at this point. Trying to acquire Zach LaVine may be too expensive, but if they can find an offensive weapon without having to tear their roster apart and hope that injuries don’t expose their roster, it’ll be great for the franchise.
