During a fan meet-and-greet event with Minnesota Timberwolves players, including Karl-Anthony Towns and Anthony Edwards, a humorous exchange took place when a fan playfully asked if Towns was Edwards’ son. Edwards, known for his charismatic personality, responded in a light-hearted manner, saying:

“Yeah, this is my other son. He’s my taller son, though. I have two 7-foot sons, KAT and Gobert.”

The mention of Rudy Gobert added an extra layer of humor to Edwards’ playful banter. However, Karl-Anthony Towns wasn’t ready to embrace the role of being Edwards’ son. Towns promptly shut down the idea, stating:

“I ain’t your son. I’m Papa, don’t worry about that.”

The exchange showcased the camaraderie and friendly dynamic among the Timberwolves players, giving fans a glimpse of the team’s chemistry off the court. Meanwhile, the Timberwolves are enjoying success on the court, boasting the NBA’s best record after defeating the Dallas Mavericks.

Anthony Edwards, despite dealing with a bruised hip affecting his performance, remains a key contributor to the team’s impressive run. The Timberwolves will look to extend their winning streak against the Indiana Pacers, although Edwards’ availability is uncertain due to his injury.

Anthony Edwards Wants To Cook LeBron James

In a recent interview, Minnesota Timberwolves’ rising star Anthony Edwards expressed his desire to face LeBron James in a one-on-one matchup, aiming to showcase his offensive skills against one of the NBA’s all-time greats. Edwards, known for his confidence and scoring ability, acknowledged LeBron James as one of the best players in the league but revealed that he hasn’t had the opportunity to cook him one-on-one due to the Lakers’ defensive strategy of consistently double-teaming him.

“I always try to do that versus LeBron, but it never goes because they double-team me. He’s been the best player in the world for a long time, so I think that’s the main person I want to cook. Him or KD. But they never guard me one-on-one.”

Despite Edwards’ aspirations, facing LeBron James one-on-one remains a challenging prospect, given the Lakers‘ defensive schemes and the experienced roster’s ability to limit opposing players. In the seven matchups between Edwards and LeBron, since the former entered the NBA in 2020, Edwards has averaged 22.4 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 3.0 assists, with only two victories against the Lakers.

The Lakers’ defensive versatility and strategic planning make it unlikely for LeBron to engage in a direct one-on-one matchup against Edwards.
