Anthony Edwards is often seen with some jewelry on him and it turns out that most of it is fake. During an interview with Complex Sports, Edwards revealed he wears fake jewelry because he doesn’t want to spend a lot on the real ones.

“That’s two chains, but the little one is like some bulls**t for real,” Edwards said when shown a picture of him with chains. “It really was fake, it just look real… Ain’t nobody really see it, you see how you got to zoom in on it?”

When interviewer Speedy Morman stated that it’s obvious that the chains are fake, Edwards disagreed and then hilariously said people will think it’s real because he’s wearing them.

“People gon think it real anyway, because it’s me,” Edwards continued. “… I ain’t gonna spend all that money on that jewelry.”

He also revealed his earrings are fake ones and he wears them because they look good. When Morman asked if his famous AE chain was fake, Edwards said that one was real. Here’s the chain for those wondering what it looks like.

I actually find it quite smart on his part to not spend a lot of money on real jewelry. It adds no real material value and if a fake one is quite comparable in appearance, then just go ahead and wear it. Edwards also saves money with it, which can be spent elsewhere on more useful things.

Anthony Edwards’ Net Worth

Edwards signed a massive five-year deal that could be worth up to $260 million earlier this year, so he certainly won’t be short on cash. As per Google, his net worth stands at just $14 million, though, and Edwards doesn’t seem to agree with that.

“I don’t know nothing about that, I don’t know nothing about no Google,” Edwards said. “… I don’t know what they talking about, they tripping… Google be right… But I don’t know if they right this time, but they be right.”

(starts at 15:01 mark):

Edwards clearly believes his net worth to be much higher. We probably need an entity like Forbes to come in and settle this matter on what exactly the number should be.

Anthony Edwards Wants The Michael Jordan Comparisons To Stop

Patrick Beverley once made the bold claim that Edwards could be the next Michael Jordan. Since then, many others have said the same as well, but Edwards stated that it is time to stop the Jordan comparisons.

“I just want them to stop. He’s the greatest to ever play basketball. And I’m so far from it.” Interestingly, Edwards also believes that Jordan would have no chance of guarding him if they met on the court in today’s era. “Hell nah! No,” said Edwards. “I just don’t think he can guard me. He’s gonna do his thing but it’s gonna be a tough night…”

He was humble enough to say he has a long way to go before he’s deserving of the comparison. That unwavering belief he has in his abilities came through, though, when asked if Jordan could guard him. We’ll unfortunately never get to see that matchup, but it could have been quite special.

As for Edwards’ play this season, he is currently averaging 23.6 points, 5.5 rebounds, 5.2 assists, 1.3 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. He has led the Minnesota Timberwolves to an 18-5 record, which sees them sit atop the standings in the West. They look like the real deal in 2023-24, but ultimately, will go only as far as Edwards takes them.
