After their latest on-court collapse against the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday, the situation is approaching dire for Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and the Golden State Warriors. This time, despite a rare scoring outburst from Draymond Green (who knocked 4 threes in the first quarter), the Warriors lost the game after blowing a 22-point second-half lead.

This collapse marks another concerning showing for the Warriors, who are struggling to keep their heads above the water after a 6-2 start. Perhaps the defining play of the game was the Warriors’ very last possession. Steph, who already had a few made threes in the books, decided to pass off the final shot to Draymond Green, who missed a chance to win the game on a corner three-pointer.

It probably wasn’t the smartest move to go to Dray for that shot, but the Warriors have not been making the best decisions this season. Between poor shot selection from the veterans, inconsistent focus from the young guys, and questionable rotations from head coach Steve Kerr, it’s no wonder why the Warriors are struggling and their woes have become the hottest topic in the association right now.

NBA Fans Can’t Believe The State Of The Warriors In 2023

For a team that achieved the heights of the Warriors, mediocrity will not cut it anymore for the players, the front office, or the fans. With a payroll of over $136 million, the Warriors are paying an expensive fee to keep these guys together, and the only way to make it worth it is by putting together some kind of meaningful playoff run. But at 9-11, and losing ground fast, there is a world where the Warriors don’t even make the playoffs at all.

Either way, fans are concerned about this team and they expressed as much online after the embarrassing loss.

Warriors fan stop worrying about schedule we need to worry about age and lack of speed

It’s rare for the Warriors to be the laughingstock of the league, but many fans are laughing at their expense right now amid a flurry of memes and jokes on social media.

The worst part about this for the Warriors is that this isn’t their first time losing in this way. Golden State has blown several big-time leads this season and it tells us all we need to know about their status as a contender.

Warriors are not a good team guys, good teams do not continuously blow 20 point leads I know y’all know this.

— Niko (@nikotaughtyou) December 2, 2023

Only a fool would count out the Warriors this early on, but they probably shouldn’t keep messing around like this for much longer. In the wild West, every loss matters and if the Dubs want to secure home-court advantage in April, May, and June, they will need to clean up their act fast and turn this thing around.

Panic Mode For Golden State?

Looking lifeless and ejected after the loss, there is no denying that these are rough times for the former NBA champions. Far removed from their dynasty years, the team is running out of patience and fans are starting to wonder if this is the end of an era for the franchise. While Steve Kerr plans to stick by his core guys, Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr. might have other ideas on how to salvage this situation and put Steph in a winning situation to close out his career.

Depending on how the next few weeks play out, this Warriors team could go through some dramatic changes as they look to take advantage of Stephen Curry’s continued excellence. Because if there’s one thing that’s abundantly clear, it’s that this Warriors team will struggle to win anything as presently constructed.
