LeBron James is a billionaire and an all-time great basketball player, but before all of that, he’s a father. He adores his children and is pleased to see his eldest son, Bronny, attend some of his games. After the Los Angeles Lakers beat the Houston Rockets on Sunday, James also spoke about his excitement whenever Bronny returns home from college.
“It’s just great to have him here,” LeBron said. “I mean obviously we know what happened in the summer. So, I see my man with a smile… He’s a big-time college kid, so if anybody got college kids you know they leave and you might not see them for a week or two and then they show up at your house, it’s time to get their clothes clean and they want a fresh meal. It makes me super super duper happy.”
When asked if Bronny, who is now at USC, has actually been doing that, James said he was.
“Yeah, yesterday was the first time I seen him in two weeks,” LeBron stated. “But it’s okay and I understand that. He got school, he got practice, he’s training, listen the boy’s 19 years old, but that’s what FaceTime is for.”

It’s good to see that LeBron is giving Bronny a lot of freedom and isn’t trying to be too controlling. He’s fine with the 19-year-old going about his own business and is just delighted to see him at home once in a couple of weeks.
LeBron James Says Bronny’s USC Debut Isn’t Too Far Away
While things are going great now, everything nearly went horribly wrong earlier this year in July when Bronny suffered a cardiac arrest while at practice with USC. Fortunately, his condition was soon declared to be stable and it was revealed he could continue his basketball career as well.
Still, it was going to take a little bit of time for Bronny to be able to return to the court and he has missed the start of the season for USC. Prior to their last game against Brown on Sunday, though, he warmed up with his teammates for the first time and LeBron says he is very close to making his debut.
“Today’s game was the first game he got an opportunity to warm up with his team,” LeBron said. “So, he’s almost there. … He’s almost there.”
It is going to be such a special moment when he takes to the court for the first time. USC will take on Seton Hall on November 23, and we could perhaps finally see the long-awaited debut then.
LeBron James Has Dedicated His 2023-24 Season To Bronny
With Bronny’s life no longer in any danger, James could switch his attention to the 2023-24 season with the Lakers. His son is still at the forefront of his mind, though, as you might imagine, and when LeBron gave an update on Bronny’s condition, he said he’d be dedicating this season to him.
You’d expect nothing else from James and he has been dominating on the court so far. The 38-year-old has averaged 26.4 points, 8.2 rebounds, 6.5 assists, 1.7 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game this season, and has put in some phenomenal performances. If he does end up leading the Lakers to the championship this season, it will end up being a story for the ages.
