Chris Paul was traded to the Golden State Warriors this offseason and now Draymond Green’s goal for next year is to help him get his first ring.

“I look at this as one of the most important years of my career. … It’s not to redeem anything about Draymond. My goal is that we can help Chris Paul get his first championship,” Green said, as reported by ClutchPoints.

Chris Paul has been in the NBA since 2005, but despite being on multiple contending teams like the Los Angeles Clippers, Houston Rockets, and the Phoenix Suns, has not been able to win an NBA championship yet.

The Golden State Warriors have a stacked starting five for next season and have the players to be serious contenders in the Western Conference. Having won it all in 2022, the roster also has experience and could win next season.

Draymond Green Says The Warriors Can Win Two More NBA Championships

The Golden State Warriors’ dynasty is the most dominant since the San Antonio Spurs and has already won four championships.

And Draymond Green certainly has faith that they can be even greater. According to what he told ESPN, he thinks they can win more than two championships, which tracks with his confident personality.

“I don’t see why we can’t get two more championships,” Draymond Green said.

If the Golden State Warriors can win two more championships, then they will have six with the current core. That would put them on par with the Chicago Bulls dynasty, although those championships were all won in 8 years.

Stephen Curry is turning 36 years old this season, and Chris Paul, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green are all turning much older as well. For the Warriors to win two more rings, it will have to be in the next two seasons, making this a massive claim.

Chris Paul Is Expected To Be A Starter For The Golden State Warriors

Chris Paul averaged 13.9 points, 4.3 rebounds, and 8.9 assists per game for the season in 2022-23, his lowest numbers in a while. He has started looking like he is in decline too, but the Golden State Warriors are seemingly willing to give him an opportunity.

According to reports, Chris Paul is expected to start for the Golden State Warriors next season.

“I do expect him to start. I think they’re gonna try it. This isn’t an opinion, this is just what I’m hearing,” Marc Spears reported.

This makes sense, even Steve Kerr has spoken about why he thinks the Golden State Warriors needed Chris Paul. And his considerable resume means that an opportunity to start is certain to come his way regardless.

Draymond Green has been an important playmaker for the Warriors’ dynasty, and working with Chris Paul, he could form a deadly combination on offense. Chris Paul will be wanting to get his first championship ring too, so Draymond Green’s words surely sound good to him.
