  • JJ Redick and Skip Bayless are both members of the sports media but Redick also played in the NBA
  • When asked about a 1-on-1 matchup against Bayless on the court, Redick was confident he would dominate
  • Even when a 100-0 handicap was suggested, JJ Redick said he would beat Skip Bayless

JJ Redick spoke in an interview about playing a 1-on-1 game against Skip Bayless. He was asked what would happen in the game began with a 100-0 lead for Bayless, and Redick was confident that it would not change the outcome in the slightest.

“Picking Skip, it’s easy,” JJ Redick said when asked about beating Skip Bayless to 101 despite him having a 100-point lead. “He would never score on me.

“That game would be over so fast. I’d shoot 50 layups and he’d probably foul me on one. 101-100. There you go. There’s no chance. I could do it right now.”

JJ Redick had a 15-year career in the NBA after being drafted in 2006 and calling it quits in 2021. He was never an All-Star or a legend, but Redick was a great role player and one of the best three-point specialists in the game’s history. He averaged 12.8 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game for his career, and it’s easy to see why he is so confident that he would dominate against Skip Bayless.

Skip Bayless Was Quite Poor As A Basketball Player

One might say that Skip Bayless being 71 years old and JJ Redick being only 39 years old would have a big impact on the game. And while that is a fact, Skip Bayless’ basketball skills were terrible even when he was younger. Jalen Rose once revealed exactly what Skip was like as a player.

“Nobody should be overcritical of high school players, in particular those of professional athletes” he said. “Especially if you were a junior in high school and only averaged 1.4 points.”

To not even average more than 2 points per game in high school is truly wild, but it’s another testament to Bayless not really being on the same level as the athletes he criticizes. He is a titan in the media and a beast in his own field, but JJ Redick could probably destroy Skip Bayless on the court at any point with ease.
