- Boston has officially submitted an application to host the ASG in 2026
- Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck is confident of Boston getting a chance of hosting the event
- This upcoming season’s ASG will be held at Indianapolis
Boston Celtics owner Wyc Grousbeck confirmed that he is going ” all in” to host the 2026 NBA All-Star Game in Boston.
According to Adam Himmelsbach of The Boston Globe, “We’re on it,” Grousbeck said. “It’s taking up planning time. The wheels are in motion. We’re definitely going for it.”
In addition, the team front office has already filed an application for the event in 2026. The last time the ASG happened in Boston was in 1964, and now Grousbeck is keen to get the festivities back in Beantown.
This past season, the ASG was held at Utah and Indianapolis will host the upcoming edition. The latter will be hosting the games for the second time in franchise history.
It will be a treat for the Celtics fans to see their star players in action during the All-Star Games. With the likes of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown set to stay in Boston for the foreseeable future, the duo will almost definitely be part of the All-Stars contests making it all the more special.
The Boston Celtics Will Look For A Championship Run In The 2023-24 Season
After making the NBA Finals and the Eastern Conference Finals in their last two seasons, the Celtics will gear up for another deep playoff run in the upcoming 2023-24 season.
The team has already bolstered the lineup by ensuring Brown and Tatum stay together and has added Kristaps Porzingis to the mix. In Joe Mazzulla, they have an efficient and tactically astute coach who led the side impressively last season.
The 35-year-old led the Celtics to a 57-25 record, which was good enough to be the second seed in the Eastern Conference. It was indeed a great start for a rookie head coach. But anything less than a title in the 2023-24 season would put him under the pump.
