  • Mike Greenberg and ESPN have reached a mutual agreement about his departure
  • The latest development adds to the massive changes ringing in at ESPN

Malika Andrews’ career continues on its sharp climb as she is now set to become the new host of ESPN’s NBA Finals.

Per the New York Post, which reported the development, the show was hosted by Mike Greenberg for the last two years, and this season will see a new face in Andrews.

For those unaware, Greenberg was brought in to stabilize the show ‘NBA Countdown’ following the murky incident between Rachel Nichols and Maria Taylor.

This news also comes on the back of the major changes the network has made in recent times, with Mike Breen joined by Doris Burke and Doc Rivers. Prior to this, ESPN had let go of prominent names in Jeff Van Gundy and Mark Jackson.

In the meantime, Andrews will continue as the host of “NBA Today”. She rose to prominence for her scintillating reporting of the NBA during the bubble in 2020. As for Greenberg, he and ESPN have reached a mutual agreement regarding his departure.

Witty And Incredible, Malika Andrews Has Steadily Soared At ESPN

Born in Oakland, California, the 28-year-old Malika Andrews grew up a Golden State Warriors fan, and her journey as a journalist began in 2017 after she served as the sportswriter and editor for the University of Portland.

Her talent was spotted by ESPN analyst and NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, and she started out covering the Chicago Bulls and the Milwaukee Bucks. The highlight of her career graph was when she covered the game on-site in the NBA Bubble in 2020.

Now, Andrews is set to host one of the household shows that fans have regularly tuned in huge numbers for years. She surely is a perfect replacement for Greenberg, who did a stellar job himself.

Safe to say, the fans will love to see Andrews in a new role where she brings her brilliant understanding of the game.
