  • Ingram will share the floor with Jose Alvarado and Herb Jones
  • The forward will be the focus next season for the Pelicans

New Orleans Pelicans star Brandon Ingram revealed the best moment of his NBA career.

Speaking to The Athletic’s William Guillory, the forward was unabashed in his thoughts and surely it was a heartwarming one.

“Someone asked me the other day what my best moment has been in the NBA so far. I told them to see Jose (Alvarado) and Herb get paid. I get to see them work every day. I know their personalities and I know how much they love basketball. I know how much they put into this. And those guys played four years in college, so they had to earn this. They had to wait their turn.”

He further added:

“And after they got those contracts, they’ve remained the same people. I love that about those guys.”

Alvarado inked a 4-year / $6,888,212 contract with the Pelicans, including $3,063,518 guaranteed, and an annual average salary of $1,722,053. As for Herb, he and the Pels agreed on a long-term deal worth $54 million over four years.

And that for Ingram, was more fruitful. It’s good to see how he believes that his teammates deserve more and perhaps it is this chemistry that will be crucial for New Orleans in the upcoming season.

Brandon Ingram Will Be A Key Figure For The New Orleans Pelicans Next Season

The Pelicans were one of the teams that missed out on the playoffs this past season, especially after they started strong.

Their slump could be attributed to Zion Williamson’s injuries, coupled with inconsistency. Ingram was looked at as the focal point of the offense in Williamson’s absence.

Ingram played 45 games in the season averaging 24.7 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 5.8 assists. With the Pelicans now bolstered by Alvarado and Herb’s longtime presence, the team now has a chance to keep their consistency levels and make a dash for the playoffs.

With Williamson’s future in the team unclear, all eyes will be on Ingram, and that will make for an interesting case to see how he goes about his business in the 2023-23 season.
