  • Klay Thompson and Devin Booker had beef last season on the floor
  • The Warriors superstar said he regretted his four rings taunt to Booker
  • Booker believes George baited Thompson into an answer

Soon after Klay Thompson admitted that he regretted his “four rings” taunt to Phoenix Suns star Devin Booker, the latter called out Paul George for trying to bait the Golden State Warriors sharpshooter.

Taking to Twitter, Booker tagged Thompson and gave him a salute emoji as a sign of respect, and then seemingly called out George, saying:

“Is that the answer you was looking for?”

This comes on the back of Thompson’s appearance on Podcast P where he shed light on the trash-talking between him and Booker.

“I was in my feelings, and [Booker] was busting my a** that day,” Thompson said. “I was not where I needed to be. Stuff doesn’t age well, and that didn’t age well for me. I don’t need to be flexing four rings, bro. Everybody knows that that’s on Wikipedia. My game wasn’t where it was at, and we all get insecure at times. I’m man enough to admit we all have our moments of weakness. I’m not really proud of that one.”

To jog back a little bit, the matchup between the Warriors and the Suns was high-octane, with both Thompson and Booker getting into it in the third quarter. The former was repeatedly in Booker’s face indicating that he had four championships to his name, and the end result was a double technical.

A few minutes later, Thompson was slapped with another tech for shoving Mikal Bridges, and he was thrown out for the first time in his career. Soon after his ejection, the Suns pulled away to register a comprehensive 134-105 win.

Thompson had an off day with just 2 points shooting 1-of-8 from the field, while Booker had 34 points and 7 assists and was the best player of the game.

And now, Booker seems to have forgiven Thompson for the chirping, but calling out George is perhaps something to watch out for.

In Paul George’s Defense, He Was Just Looking For A Response

Chances are that Paul George was pretty much looking for an answer about the beef between Klay Thompson and Devin Booker. So the Warriors star’s answer was pretty much made possible since George asked about it.

This means Booker could have misread the situation, and surely it happens to the best of us. There’s no doubt that George and Booker are some of the best names in the league at present, and they will be involved in high-intensity clashes, so another feud would just be pointless.

So maybe the duo will mend fences, and George can quash any misunderstandings. After all, they are in a league where funny things have happened, and on one fine day, it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine them sharing the locker room together.
