  • Giannis Antetokounmpo is an NBA champion, Finals MVP, and has won two MVP awards
  • NBA fans on Reddit got into a discussion about  whether he can finish his career as a Top 10 player of all time
  • Many fans think that he needs to win two or three more championships to be in the conversation

Giannis Antetokounmpo is the main man on the Milwaukee Bucks and one of the faces of the modern NBA. When he won his first championship and Finals MVP at the age of 26 in 2021, many thought he was on his way to becoming a Top 10 player of all time.

In the two years since then, Giannis hasn’t been able to add another MVP or championship to his resume. So fans on Reddit discussed whether he is still on track to crack the all-time list.

Being a Top 10 player in NBA history isn’t easy, there’s no conclusive list for it, either. Many legends can’t crack anyone’s list, either. As one fan simply said, “Not everyone can be a top 10 player ever, sadly.”

Another fan explained what Antetokounmpo needs to do to be in the conversation, saying, “He needs at least three rings being the main guy to even be in the conversion for Top 10 ever.”

While some fans believe in the Greek Freak, many don’t, with one fan writing, “Giannis is, IMO, nowhere near the conversation of top 10 all time, and I don’t think he ever will be, honestly.”

Giannis Antetokounmpo has been incredible the last two seasons even without major accolades, and one fan pointed that out, writing, “He just put up MVP level Shaq type numbers and people are acting like he fell off the map.”

And while the debate will always be interesting, one fan said, “Very few players are definitive Top 10 all-time, so I try not to judge players that way.”

Can Giannis Antetokounmpo Realistically Finish His Career As A Top 10 Player Ever?

The NBA has more talent than it arguably ever has, and many superstars are vying every year to win MVPs, championships, and Finals MVPs. Giannis Antetokounmpo is in his prime and has averaged more than 28.0 points, 11.0 rebounds, and 5.5 assists every season in his prime.

He has won the NBA championship, been named Finals MVP, won the MVP award twice, and has a Defensive Player Of The Year to his name as well. Being named Top 10 all-time is difficult, but with a resume like that at 28 years of age, he is the most likely in his generation to make it happen.

To be Top 10 all-time conclusively, he will need to win three more rings, three more Finals MVPs, and maybe another MVP and DPOY. He can do it over the next few years, but there are never any guarantees in this business. We can safely say that very few players have a higher chance than him though.
