• Jimmy Butler will look to make more than Jaylen Brown’s massive $304 million extension

• The forward has been the undisputed leader in the Heat locker room

• Butler led the Heat to the NBA Finals twice in the last four years

Jimmy Butler could well be on his way to surpass Jaylen Brown’s mammoth five-year, $304 million extension when he looks at his contract extension with the Miami Heat.

Per the Heat insider Ira Winderman, Jimmy Buckets could command ‘beyond Jaylen Brown money’ when it’s his turn.

At the time of writing, Butler has a three-year, $146,396,031 contract with Miami that includes a player option in 2025-26. Given his exploits for the Heat, it shouldn’t be a surprise that he can ask for a mammoth deal greater than Brown’s.

At 33, the Texas native is yet to win his first NBA championship, but he has taken the team close, with two NBA Finals appearances since 2020. He is the cornerstone of the team and will surely have Miami not thinking twice about giving him a lucrative extension.

Jimmy Butler Intends To Win A Championship With The Miami Heat

Despite losing to the Denver Nuggets this past season in the NBA Finals, Jimmy Butler remains optimistic about his chances of winning a title with the Heat and added that he will remain with the team and win with them.

Butler was key for the side averaging 22.9 PPG, 5.9 RPG, and 5.3 APG, but it wasn’t enough to get the team across the finish line. Speaking in an interview during his China tour earlier this month:

“I believe that with all my heart, that we, I, will win a Championship for the Heat because I don’t plan on playing for another NBA team. The next time I’m talking to ya’ll here, I’ll be a one-time NBA champion.”

Whether Damian Lillard makes his way to Miami or not, it won’t change the fact that Butler will be going after his elusive silverware, that’s for sure.
