  • Stephen Curry claimed there were three defenders where a “light bulb went off” for him
  • Jrue Holiday, Tony Allen, and Metta Sandiford-Artest were listed
  • Curry noted that Artest had the “strongest hands” on defense

Point guard Stephen Curry is one of the best players in the game today and is also one of the most accomplished. Curry won four championships with the Golden State Warriors and is still playing at a high level.

Even though Stephen Curry is an offensive powerhouse, there are still some defenders that made things tough for him. He listed Jrue Holiday, Tony Allen, and Metta Sandiford-Artest (formerly Ron Artest) as his toughest matchups.

“There’s a group of 3 that always a light bulb went off when they’re on the court. Jrue Holiday, Tony Allen and Ron Artest. I didn’t get to play too many games against him, but he had the strongest hands…”

Jrue Holiday is still one of the best defenders in the league today, and it is easy to see why he is on Curry’s list. Meanwhile, Tony Allen and Metta Sandiford-Artest are both lengthy forwards who were known for being physical in their defensive matchups, so their inclusion is understandable as well.

This past season with the Golden State Warriors, Stephen Curry averaged 29.4 PPG, 6.1 RPG, and 6.3 APG during the regular season. His shooting ability means that he’ll continue to dominate, and we’re likely to see him continue to embarrass defenders for a long time.

Stephen Curry Wants To Continue To Play Basketball For A Long Time

As of right now, Stephen Curry is 35 years old, but it is clear that he is still one of the top 5 players in the NBA. Previously, Curry suggested that he hopes to play for many more years in the league.

“Oh, absolutely,” Curry answered about still getting nervous before games. “I feel like that if I don’t get nervous or adrenaline, that’ll be the sign that I need to quit because it won’t matter. The nerves, obviously, just indicate that I want to be successful and it’s meaningful what I’m doing. So I hope to be nervous for many more years to come.”

We will see how well Stephen Curry does in the coming years. The Warriors won the 2022 NBA championship, and if Curry continues playing at his current level, they could win even more.
