• Bradley Beal felt he was drafted again after getting a huge welcome following his trade to the Phoenix Suns
• Beal is excited for his new journey after spending 11 years with the Washington Wizards
• The 30-year-old feels he can coexist with Kevin Durant and Devin Booker on the Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns landed Bradley Beal in a blockbuster trade with the Washington Wizards earlier this year. Beal will wear a different jersey for the first time in his career after spending 11 years with the Wizards.
Beal felt as if he was drafted again into the NBA following the trade. The 3x NBA All-Star shared his feelings in an interview with Deyscha Smith of ‘SLAM Magazine.’
“It feels like I got drafted all over again,” Beal says, wearing his Suns uniform for the first time. “I got drafted on my birthday at the age of 19 in 2012. And then here you go, fast forward 11 years later, the age of 30. I’m with a new team. It is definitely coming full circle. Feels surreal in someways, but I’m definitely excited for this new journey.”
Over the years, Beal must have built great connections within the Wizards organization. Now, he’ll be playing for a new franchise where he will play alongside two more scoring superstars in Kevin Durant and Devin Booker.
While many have expressed their doubts, Beal believes he can easily coexist with Durant and Booker. Well, we’ll just have to wait and find out.
Bradley Beal Wants To Return To All-Star Form This Season
Bradley Beal averaged 23.2 PPG, 3.9 RPG, and 5.4 APG for the Wizards in the 2022-23 NBA season. These were decent numbers, but certainly not even close to his stats during the prime of his career.
Considering Beal is still 30 years old, he has a shot at returning to that form. Evidently, the former Wizards star aims to become an NBA All-Star in the upcoming season.
“Granted, I wanna get back to my All-Star level of play. I really believe that that’s who I am: All-NBA guy, All-Star guy. And I have a good group that can push me to be that every single day. So I’m excited about that opportunity. I get to be around like-minded guys and guys who will push me to make sure that I’m the best version of myself every day.”
In addition, Beal also wants to enjoy some playoff success. With the Wizards, Beal only played in the postseason five teams. He was eliminated in the opening round twice and made it to the second round thrice.
All things considered, Beal is aching to prove himself in the playoffs. Well, with the Suns, he’ll most likely get a chance to do just that. Heading into the 2023-24 season, the Suns are viewed as one of the top contenders to win it all, and Beal’s arrival is one of the primary reasons behind it.
