Even though all superstars impact the game at a high level, there’s no doubt that their approaches often differ. Different players focus on different areas of the game, and playing with two superstars can be a vastly contrasting experience.
Forward Bruce Brown has recently opened up on what it’s like to play with superstar Nikola Jokic, as compared to Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. He noted that Jokic is more “unselfish” and pointed out that Durant and Irving are scorers who are often willing to score over multiple defenders, rather than having a pass-first mentality.
“Nikola’s too unselfish… K and Ky can shoot over 2 people and score. Nikola not going to do that. He gon’ pass it and believe that you going to make it.”

Neither approach to the game is necessarily wrong. Playing with score-first players doesn’t necessarily mean that they won’t pass at all. However, playing with a pass-first player means that role players get to consistently touch the ball, which in turn leads to better morale among them.
Gilbert Arenas Believes Nikola Jokic Is More Dominant Than Shaquille O’Neal
There is no doubt that many believe that Nikola Jokic is the best player in the world right now. In fact, previously, Gilbert Arenas claimed that Nikola Jokic is more dominant than Shaquille O’Neal.
“I would still have to go with Joker because when you’re talking about the whole package, he’s bringing 60 to 70 points from himself,” Arenas said. “The problem with Shaq is when he can’t do that no more, what does he have? With Joker, the worst-case scenario, he can just be the point guard… Shaq is 30 and 15? Ok, he’s (Jokic) going to give you 30 and 15 with 10 assists. The numbers and the numbers.”
Though most people would disagree with Nikola Jokic being more of a dominant player than Shaquille O’Neal, they would likely also agree that Jokic is the more versatile player among the two. There are different types of dominance in the league, and just because Nikola Jokic isn’t a flashy scorer or dunker, doesn’t mean that the superstar isn’t a dominant force in his own right within the league today.
