Barring Kevon Looney, the Golden State Warriors big man who stands at 6’9″, the rest of the team falls below his height range and is the only team in the NBA without a player over 6’9″.

To quickly lend perspective, Looney and forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. share the same height, followed by Jonathan Kuminga (6’7″) and Draymond Green (6’6″). The other 29 teams in the league have players over the mark.

Here’s the present Warriors roster with their height from the tallest to the shortest. Per ESPN, the height of each player in the team is as follows:

Kevon Looney – 6’9″

Patrick Baldwin Jr. – 6’9″

JaMychal Green – 6’9″

Jonathan Kuminga – 6’7″

Andrew Wiggins – 6’7″

Draymond Green – 6’6″

Klay Thompson – 6’6″

Anthony Lamb – 6’6″

Andre Iguodala – 6’6″

Moses Moody – 6’5″

Lester Quinones – 6’4″

Ryan Rollins – 6’3″

Gary Payton II – 6’2″

Stephen Curry – 6’2″

Chris Paul – 6’0″

This also shows how the Warriors lack a quality big in their lineup. Over the last couple of seasons, the team has relied heavily on Looney as their center. The last season saw him average 9.3 rebounds and was 15th on the list of centers with the most RPGs.

With the free agency in full swing, only time will tell if Golden State decides to acquire another big backup for Looney.

Steve Kerr Calls Kevon Looney The Best Center In The League

Earlier this past season, Warriors head coach Steve Kerr called Kevon Looney the best center in the league. He believed that the center was impressive during their first round against the Sacramento Kings.

“Kevon Looney just keeps doing it every game,” Kerr said. “21 boards tonight, 10 offensive, I thought he controlled much of the game with his offensive boards. I think Loon is one of the best centers in the league.”

For the series, Looney ended up averaging 6.9 PPG, 15.1 RPG, and 4.3 APG in the series against the Kings.

He certainly played like one of the versatile big men in the game today and showed why the Warriors were right to sign him to an extension last year. His three-year, $22.5 million contract sure looks like a bargain now as he has established himself as a pivotal component piece for the team.
