Kyle Kuzma and the Washington Wizards have agreed to a new deal after the player decided to become a free agent this year. Kuzma, 27, was one of the few things they had for showing last season, and the team always showed its intention to keep the 2020 NBA champion.

Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN reports that the forward and his team have agreed to a four-year, $102 million deal at the start of free agency.

“Free agent F Kyle Kuzma has agreed on a four-year, $102M deal to return to the Washington Wizards, co-head of @CAA_Basketball Austin Brown tells ESPN. Kuzma took a shorter deal with Lakers three years ago — and now cashes in after a career-year with Wizards.”

The Wizards offered him a new opportunity in the league after a tumultuous stint with the Lakers. Kuzma paid with good performances and convinced them to keep him on board for the future.

The capital team is going through a rebuilding process after parting ways with Bradley Beal and Kristaps Porzingis in prior days. They landed Jordan Poole in a trade with the Golden State Warriors, creating a dynamic duo with Kuzma ahead of next season.

The Wizards have a decent team now, and they’re not expecting to compete right away, but their recent moves can lead them in the right direction.

Kyle Kuzma’s 2023-24 Season Was Remarkable

Kyle Kuzma took off the pressure of being in Los Angeles, taking his game to a new level, and becoming a good piece for the Wizards. In 64 games last season, he averaged 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists for the Wizards.

After being linked with other teams like the Sacramento Kings or Houston Rockets, Kuzma is staying put in Washington. This team can make some noise in the mid-term, and Kuzma can keep showing his quality with this young and hungry squad.
