The Sacramento Kings are reportedly prime contenders to land forward Kyle Kuzma in free agency.

According to Yahoo! Sports’ Jake Fishcher, the Kuzma to the Kings move is gathering “plenty of momentum” and with the 27-year-old opting out of his final year contract with the Washington Wizards to become a free agent, the analyst suggested that he was potential Sacramento target.

He added that the Kings are projected to have well over $25 million in salary-cap space to strike a possible deal with Kuzma. The forward spent two seasons with the Wizards after starting his career with the Los Angeles Lakers.

As far as numbers go, Kuzma was a picture of consistency last season averaging a career-high 21.2 points, 7.2 rebounds, and 3.7 assists from 64 games. But his good run wasn’t enough to see the Wizards through to the playoffs.

Should Kuzma link up with the Kings, he will be their third scoring option alongside De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis. The team already has a solid roster with Keegan Murray, Kevin Huerter, Harrison Barnes, Malik Monk, and Davion Mitchell.

Add the former Wizards star to the lineup, the Kings will further make their case for another playoff run next season.

Kyle Kuzma Wants A $30 Million Contract This Summer

As far as making intentions clear goes, Kyle Kuzma wants a $30 million contract ahead of the upcoming season.

In the latest report by Action Network’s Matt Moore, the forward is reportedly looking for at least $30 million a year from his next team.

“With the Wizards pivoting toward a rebuild after trading Beal, there’s a strong possibility (though not definite) that Kyle Kuzma finds a new home in free agency. The belief among league sources is that Kuzma is looking for $30 million per season in talks.”

With the Kings looked at as having the cap space, there’s more reason to believe that he will get the moolah he is indeed looking at. Earlier, he stated that he was looking at being more than a player, and in Sacramento, he will be part of a young and dynamic unit that’s oozing with potential.

Surely, Kuzma will be more than just a valuable addition to whichever team he goes to. And where he eventually lands remains to be seen.
