Bradley Beal has instantly made himself the talk of the NBA world since demanding a trade out of the Washington Wizards. Beal is a solid scorer who can help out a team that needs to win an NBA championship. But former NBA champion Paul Pierce believes there is a team that could do well with the former All-Star.
During an appearance on Kevin Garnett’s podcast, Paul Pierce was asked where he sees Bradley Beal going in the offseason. Pierce surprisingly claimed that the Oklahoma City Thunder is where Bradley Beal will end up. He cited OKC’s wealth of picks, and their need for a veteran in their young, promising roster.
“Everybody could use Bradley Beal, he could push the needle. Lakers, Milwaukee. But this is my prediction. I think he’s gonna end up in OKC. Because they got all them picks. You got Shai who’s growing, you get a veteran over there…”
(From 33:58 mark)
While OKC was far from a team that fans mentioned when it comes to a landing spot for Bradley Beal, what Pierce said makes a lot of sense. The Thunder have one of the most promising young rosters in the NBA, one that will be aided by the return of Chet Holmgren, and the presence of a superstar-caliber player like Bradley Beal could elevate them even further.
Does Bradley Beal Only Want To Join A Contender?
Bradley Beal has not found playoff success easy to come by during his time with the Washington Wizards. But one must ask if he wants to try and win the NBA championship. While winning a championship is the ultimate goal for any player, would Bradley Beal be happy playing on a young team with playoff aspirations?
Beal is currently expected to land either in Miami or in Phoenix, as those two teams have made their intentions clear to try and land him. The Heat are hoping to keep Tyler Herro and not include him in any deal they make for Beal. But that remains to be seen.
NBA fans debated whether the Heat or the Suns is a better landing spot for Beal, with most fans in agreement that Miami would be better suited for Beal. But wherever Beal lands, he will improve the team around him.
