The former NFL champion replied with a simple, “Appreciate the support” on Twitter to a fan who said: “Undisputed is dead to me.”

Earlier this Tuesday, Sharpe bid a heartfelt and tearful goodbye to the show he was a part of for seven years. Sharpe and Fox Sports had reached a buyout agreement and he wrapped up with the show after the 2023 NBA Finals, which ended Monday night.

While there was no concrete development as to why Sharpe did exit the show, many believed that it was Skip Bayless and his comments that caused the move.

One of the sources also added that Bayless’ constant scathing criticism of LeBron James was a factor. “Another element that seemed to bleed over between the two was that Sharpe is close with LeBron James, whose performance Bayless has been a hard grader of over the years.”

Sharpe has already garnered a loyal audience with his Club Shay Shay podcast and has options surely if he decides to continue his career as an analyst. Only time will tell where he lands next.

Despite Their Rows, Shannon Sharpe Had An Emotional Moment With Skip Bayless

From their Tom Brady blow-up to Damar Hamlin, Sharpe and Bayless have gone on a rampage against each other, but on his last day, Sharpe broke down in an emotional goodbye to his co-host.

β€œI’ll never forget what you did for me,” Sharpe said, breaking down. “I am here because of you. You have allowed me to share the stage with you.”

“You’ve allowed me to share the platform. I will cry in the car, I’m not gonna cry now. The opportunity that you gave me, to become what I became, I’m forever indebted to you. You helped me grow more than you ever know.”

β€œAll I ask is when you lay your head on your pillow at night, know I gave you everything I had.” To which Bayless had an equally lavish response: β€œThe greatest compliment I can give you is you were a worthy adversary.”

It’s good to see that the two have buried the hatchet. Now, Sharpe can move on with zero baggage, while Bayless will have a new face in the studio.
