Jamal Murray’s Brutal Training Regimen For Pain Tolerance As A Kid

It’s obvious that the Nuggets fans are worried about Murray ahead of the Game 4 matchup in Miami.

But the fanbase shouldn’t worry much about the 26-year-old. In an interview with ESPN’s Malika Andrews, Murray revealed the tough regimen he went through to tolerate pain as a kid.

“I did squatting with cups of hot tea on my quads, I did that for a while,” Murray revealed. “A lot of the time, without a clock, so you didn’t know how much time was left, which is a little bit different. We had this big maple tree in our front yard, so during fall, when the leaves fall off, it would be cold, and I would be picking up the leaves with my bare hands to strengthen my hand.”

“That’s why I can do what I do no matter how cold or hot the gym is,” he concluded.

Keeping this in mind, Murray should be able to play through an injury like a floor burn. After all, winning the 2023 NBA Championship is at stake.
