Damian Lillard could reportedly leave the Portland Trail Blazers this summer if the organization fails to build a competitive roster around him.
There are several NBA teams that have been named as a potential destination for Dame. The Boston Celtics were also among them. However, according to Bleacher Report’s Chris Haynes, Lillard doesn’t want to join the Celtics.
“He’s not doing Boston. He’s not,” Haynes revealed on The Dan Patrick Show. “I don’t see that. I think that’s pretty safe to say.”

Chris Haynes has been closely reporting Damian Lillard’s situation with the Portland Trail Blazers. He immediately dismissed the idea of Lillard playing in Boston.
Following the news, Jayson Tatum went on to Lillard’s Instagram Live video to express his disappointment about the 32-year-old not liking Boston. Lillard responded to it by saying Tatum is now offended.
“Now you got my boy JT over here offended. That’s crazy,” Lillard said.
“Damn we get it you don’t like Boston”

Lillard is not completely ruling out playing for a team in the Eastern Conference. In fact, he openly admitted that he’d like to be traded to the Miami Heat, but only if the franchise loses in the 2023 NBA Finals.
Will Damian Lillard Stay With The Portland Trail Blazers?
After being loyal to the franchise for 11 seasons, Damian Lillard is finally breaking the silence on his frustrations with the Trail Blazers.
It’s crystal clear that Dame wants to win an NBA Championship before retiring. It’d be perfect if he can achieve his goal while staying with the Trail Blazers. After all, they have the third overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft and can use it to surround Dame with a competent roster.
But in case the Trail Blazers decide to keep their pick, it could reportedly mean the end of Lillard’s stint with the team.
Lillard has averaged 25.2 PPG, 4.2 RPG, and 6.7 APG over 769 games for the Trail Blazers. Sure, it would be sad to see if he decides to demand a trade from the organization, but can he be blamed? The franchise has failed to deliver on his expectations of building a winning team.
