The Denver Nuggets took a 2-1 lead in the 2023 NBA Finals following a blowout win over the Miami Heat in Game 3.

Nikola Jokic was his usual dominant self. The Joker recorded 32 points, 21 rebounds, and 10 assists. He became the first player in NBA Finals history to have a 30-20-10 stat line. Jokic gave a stoic answer to the meaning of achieving this feat in the postgame interview.

“I mean, to be honest, not much,” Jokic said. “… I’m just glad we won a game. It was a big one for us.”

It was Jokic’s second triple-double in the NBA Finals and 10th overall in the 2023 playoffs. But they don’t mean much to Jokic as he is eyeing the ultimate prize, which is to win the 2023 NBA Championship.

Behind the Joker’s historic performance, the Nuggets finished the game at 109-94. If they can win Game 4, the organization will be just one win away from winning the first title in franchise history.

Michael Malone Claims Nikola Jokic And Jamal Murray Had Their Greatest Performance As A Duo In Game 3

More often than not, it’s the Nikola Jokic show for the Denver Nuggets. But in the postseason, Jamal Murray has elevated his game to the next level. After a quiet Game 2, Murray recorded 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in the team’s recent win.

They became the first pair of teammates to record 30-point triple-doubles in NBA Finals history. Nuggets head coach Michael Malone had nothing but praise for the dynamic duo in the postgame conference.

“I’ve been with Nikola for eight [years] and Jamal for seven years now,” Malone said. “We’ve had some pretty good moments. But not in the NBA Finals and for those guys to make history the way they did tonight, no one’s ever done that… By far their greatest performance as a duo in their seven years together.”

In the NBA Finals, Jokic is currently averaging 33.3 PPG, 14.0 RPG, and 9.3 APG. As for Murray, he has averaged 26.0 PPG, 6.7 RPG, and 10.0 APG.

Game 4 of the series will be played on Friday, June 09, 2023, in Miami. The Nuggets will have a chance to go up 3-1 in the series.
