Donovan Mitchell knows the game very well, and he recognizes talent whenever and wherever he sees it. The Cleveland Cavaliers has been active during the 2023 NBA Playoffs, expressing his opinion on the most important topics around the league.

During an appearance on “Run Your Race” podcast, Mitchell was asked who had a deeper bag between Luka Doncic and Kevin Durant, going with Doncic first. Then, things got more interesting as Theo Pinson threw a different name into the mix.

Theo Pinson: “Deeper bag, Kevin Durant or Luka Doncic?”

Donovan Mitchell: “I think Luka. KD’s 7 feet, he don’t need a bag.”

Theo Pinson: “What about Shai [Gilgeous-Alexander] or Luka?”

Donovan Mitchell: “I gotta go Shai.”

This is a curious selection, but Mitchell has played against these players, and he knows better than anybody the things Shai can do on the court. Luka Doncic is really talented with the basketball, and he’s shown that more than once.

Shai is on his way to becoming a superstar in the league, and every season, he gets better. The Oklahoma City Thunder are a team with a bright future, and SGA is their leader.

They made it to the play-in tournament this campaign, and everybody expects them to take another step forward next season. Shai is doing a terrific job, and even though he hasn’t played at the same stages Luka has, for this one, Mitchell is going with him.

Donovan Mitchell And His Cleveland Cavaliers Failed To Beat The New York Knicks

Meanwhile, Spida did make it to the playoffs, contrary to SGA and Doncic. However, the guard couldn’t lead the Cleveland Cavaliers past the first round, ultimately losing to the New York Knicks.

Next season, everybody expects the Cavs to show a different face and go deeper in the playoffs. Mitchell landed in Cleveland as the next big thing for this team, and it’s time to show he can lead a squad to compete in the postseason.
